A small town, a big idea
Long before the framed degrees and the operating microscopes, Varun Gogia was a boy growing up in Narnaul, a small town in Haryana far removed from Delhi's big hospitals. He noticed, the way children notice things adults have stopped seeing, how many people around him squinted through life rather than got their eyes looked at — an elderly relative who had simply stopped reading, a shopkeeper who called out prices by memory because the numbers on the board had blurred years ago. Eye care felt like something that happened to other people, in other cities.
That observation became a quiet, stubborn ambition: that good vision shouldn't depend on which city you were born in. It's an unusually specific thing for a child to decide, and an unusually durable one — it's still the sentence that best explains why IClinix exists.
AIIMS, and the long road to the operating table
Turning that ambition into a medical career meant getting into one of the hardest institutions in the country to get into — and then staying there, degree after degree, until there was nothing left of ophthalmology at AIIMS that he hadn't trained in.

Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences is AIIMS' dedicated department for eye care. It's where Dr. Gogia's own training happened, and where much of his early research took shape.

An AIIMS-trained surgeon doesn't need to build a practice from nothing — the harder, more deliberate choice Dr. Gogia made was to first go and operate everywhere the need was, before building a place of his own.

From a spare room at home to a hospital in the heart of Delhi
IClinix didn't start as a hospital. It started as a small practice Dr. Gogia ran out of his own residence — a consulting room, a slit lamp, and a waiting list that quickly outgrew the space. Patients who came for one appointment sent their parents, their neighbours, their colleagues. What had begun as a side practice run out of necessity became something he couldn't run part-time anymore.
That early clinic is what grew, step by deliberate step, into IClinix Advanced Eye Care — now a proper, purpose-built hospital in the heart of Delhi, with the diagnostic and surgical technology of any major eye institute, built by someone who remembers exactly what it felt like to not have access to that care at all.
